How it works

1. Cast Relentless Dead by paying 0.
2. When Relentless Dead enters the battlefield, Carnival of Souls triggers, causing you to add and lose 1 life.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Relentless Dead, adding CC.
4. When Relentless Dead dies, its first and second abilities trigger, as well as Zulaport Cutthroat.
5. Resolve the first Relentless Dead trigger, causing you to pay to return Relentless Dead from your graveyard to your hand.
6. Resolve the second Relentless Dead trigger, choosing not to pay.
7. Resolve the Zulaport Cutthroat trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
8. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms free zombie recursion into a devastating engine by using Rooftop Storm to cast Relentless Dead for zero mana. As Relentless Dead enters the battlefield, Carnival of Souls provides the black mana required to fund its own death trigger, while Ashnod's Altar sacrifices the zombie to generate a profit of two colorless mana. Finally, Zulaport Cutthroat turns this endless cycle of sacrifice and rebirth into a lethal drain for your opponents, turning a modest horde of the undead into an unstoppable win condition.
