How it works

1. Cast Time Stretch from your graveyard by paying its mana cost.
2. Holding priority, activate Talon Gates of Madara by paying 4, putting it from your hand onto the battlefield.
3. When Talon Gates of Madara enters the battlefield, it triggers, phasing out Hades.
4. Resolve Time Stretch, causing you to take two extra turns after this one.
5. Activate Talon Gates of Madara by tapping it, adding C.
6. Activate Meticulous Excavation by paying 2, returning Talon Gates of Madara from the battlefield to your hand.
7. During your first extra turn, Hades phases in during your untap step.
8. Repeat during your second extra turn.

This intricate engine transforms Emet-Selch, Unsundered into Hades, Sorcerer of Eld, whose passive ability lets you play cards directly from your graveyard—enabling you to cast Time Stretch over and over again. To sustain this loop, Talon Gates of Madara uses its flash-like ability to enter the battlefield from your hand, triggering its phase-out effect to temporarily tuck away Hades, Sorcerer of Eld so it can safely survive or time its re-entry. Meanwhile, Meticulous Excavation allows you to bounce Talon Gates of Madara right back to your hand for reuse, resetting its entry trigger to keep the opponent perpetually locked out while you take infinite extra turns.
