How it works

  1. Cast Time Stretch by paying its mana cost, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  2. Cast Ephemerate by paying W mana, blinking Zealous Lorecaster and exiling Ephemerate.
  3. When Zealous Lorecaster enters, it triggers, returning Time Stretch from your graveyard to your hand.
  4. Move to your next turn. At the beginning of your upkeep, Ephemerate's rebound ability triggers, causing you to cast it from exile without paying its mana cost.
  5. Resolve Ephemerate, blinking Zealous Lorecaster.
  6. When Zealous Lorecaster enters, it triggers, returning Ephemerate from your graveyard to your hand.
  7. Repeat during your second extra turn

This loop sets up an unstoppable temporal engine by turning a single blink into a perpetual recursion machine. You cast Time Stretch to claim extra turns, and then deploy Ephemerate to exile and return Zealous Lorecaster to the battlefield. Zealous Lorecaster's enters-the-battlefield ability is the crucial glue here, reaching into your graveyard to pull Time Stretch right back to your hand. Thanks to Ephemerate's rebound mechanic, you get to cast it for free again on your next upkeep to repeat the whole process, securing infinite turns and locking opponents out of the game entirely.
