How it works

  1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing the Goblin, Orc or Army
  2. When the Goblin, Orc or Army dies, The Great Goblin's second ability and Mortuary trigger.
  3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting the Goblin, Orc or Army onto the top of your library from your graveyard.
  4. Resolve the Great Goblin trigger, exiling the Goblin, Orc or Army from the top of your library with the ability to play it until the end of your next turn.
  5. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability
  6. Cast the Goblin, Orc or Army from exile by paying its mana cost.
  7. Prosper triggers, creating a Treasure token.
  8. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding one mana of any color.
  9. Repeat

This clever loop turns a modest sacrifice engine into an endless engine of discovery and wealth by manipulating the top of your library. When you feed a creature to Altar of Dementia, Mortuary ensures it goes straight back to the top of your library instead of the graveyard, while The Great Goblin immediately exiles it as it tries to hit your library, setting it up to be played from exile. Casting that creature back out triggers Prosper, Tome-Bound's *Pact Boon* ability to generate a Treasure token, which you can then crack for the mana needed to repeat the whole cycle.
