How it works

  1. Activate Ant Queen by paying 1G mana, creating a 1/1 Insect creature token.
  2. Activate Lotus Ring's equip ability by paying 0 due to Puresteel Paladin, attaching it to the Insect.
  3. Activate the Insect by tapping and sacrificing it, adding G manaG manaG mana.
  4. Repeat.
  5. Once you have infinite mana, you may repeat step 1 as desired.

This loop turns a modest swarm of bugs into an infinite mana engine by exploiting the free attachment power of Puresteel Paladin. With the metalcraft condition met, Lotus Ring can be equipped for zero mana to the token produced by Ant Queen, letting you immediately tap and sacrifice that insect to the Ring's own mana ability. Fervor ensures that each newly birthed token doesn't suffer from summoning sickness before you can sacrifice it, fueling the cycle indefinitely and letting you generate as many hasty insects and colored mana as your heart desires.
