There and Back Again + Blade of Shared Souls + Flamewright + Umbral Mantle
How it works
- At the beginning of your precombat main phase, There and Back Again triggers, putting a lore counter on it.
- There and Back Again's third chapter ability triggers, creating a legendary 6/6 Smaug creature token and causing you to sacrifice There and Back Again.
- Activate Flamewright's first ability by paying 1 and tapping it, creating a 1/1 Construct creature token.
- Activate Blade of Shared Souls' equip ability by paying 2, attaching it to the Construct token.
- Blade of Shared Souls triggers, causing the Construct to become a copy of Smaug for as long as Blade of Shared Souls is attached to it.
- Put the Construct token into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
- When the Construct dies, it triggers, creating fourteen Treasure artifact tokens.
- Activate six Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 6.
- Activate Flamewright by paying 3 and untapping it, giving itself +2/+2 until end of turn.
- Repeat from step 3.
- Once you have infinite mana, you may simply tap and untap Flamewright to get infinite Construct tokens, and then use its second ability to sacrifice them for infinite damage.
This brilliant loop begins by using There and Back Again's third chapter to bring down the mighty Smaug token, which provides the legendary dragon template we need. We then deploy Flamewright to churn out Construct tokens, to which we attach Blade of Shared Souls so that the humble defender instantly transforms into a copy of Smaug. Thanks to the legend rule, this copying immediately sends our Smaug-copy into the graveyard, triggering its death ability to shower us with fourteen Treasure tokens. We crack a few of those Treasures for mana to fund Umbral Mantle—which is equipped for free and grants an untap ability fueled by that exact mana—allowing us to repeatedly untap Flamewright and grow its power while recycling our entire engine for an infinite loop of mana, death triggers, and ultimate victory.
