How it works
At the beginning of your precombat main phase, There and Back Again triggers, putting a lore counter on it.
There and Back Again's third chapter ability triggers, creating a legendary 6/6 Smaug creature token and causing you to sacrifice There and Back Again.
Activate Ghired by tapping it, creating a copy of the Smaug token.
Put either Smaug token into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
When the Smaug token dies, it triggers, creating fourteen Treasure tokens.
Activate a Treasure token by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
Activate Freed from the Real's second ability by paying , untapping Ghired.
Repeat from step 3.
This dazzling loop hinges on turning the massive dragon token from the final chapter of There and Back Again into an endlessly repeatable engine. By granting your nontoken creatures haste, Ghired, Mirror of the Wilds lets you tap it to duplicate the newly minted Smaug token, immediately generating a legend-rule sacrifice trigger. When that legendary token dies, Smaug's own death trigger rewards you with a mountain of fourteen Treasure tokens. Cashing in just one of those Treasures to pay for Freed from the Real untaps Ghired, allowing you to repeat the cycle instantly for infinite mana, tokens, and death triggers.
