How it works

1. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Vizier of Remedies.
3. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability
4. Repeat.

This clever loop lets you endlessly recycle your artifacts and creatures by taking advantage of the replacement effect provided by Vizier of Remedies. When you sacrifice Lesser Masticore to fuel Umbral Collar Zealot, the Masticore's persist ability tries to return it with a -1/-1 counter, but Vizier of Remedies steps in to reduce that number to zero, leaving the Masticore completely clean and ready to die again. Because Umbral Collar Zealot lets you repeat this sacrifice indefinitely, you can cycle through your entire deck one surveil at a time while generating an endless stream of enters-the-battlefield, leaves-the-battlefield, and death triggers.
