How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing Trapjaw Kelpie.
2. When Trapjaw Kelpie dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Vizier of Remedies.
3. Repeat.

This loop relies on Trapjaw Kelpie entering and leaving the battlefield repeatedly, fueled by the sacrifice outlet Thermopod which converts each iteration into a steady stream of red mana. Ordinarily, the persist ability would place a -1/-1 counter on Trapjaw Kelpie upon its return, permanently shutting down the loop after a single use. However, Vizier of Remedies completely neutralizes that drawback by reducing the applied -1/-1 counters to zero, allowing Trapjaw Kelpie to return pristine and ready to be sacrificed all over again.
