How it works

1. Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing Lingering Tormentor.
2. When Lingering Tormentor dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Vizier of Remedies.
3. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability
4. Repeat.

This elegant engine relies on Vizier of Remedies and its brilliant static ability to rewrite the rules of combat, ensuring that whenever a -1/-1 counter would be placed on your creatures, one less is applied instead—which conveniently means zero counters for a creature returning via persist. Because of this, when you sacrifice Lingering Tormentor to Viscera Seer, its persist trigger brings it straight back to the battlefield completely clean and ready to die all over again. By looping this sacrifice endlessly, you get to sculpt the top of your library with infinite scry triggers while generating an endless stream of entries, exits, and deaths.
