How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Glen Elendra Archmage.
2. When Glen Elendra Archmage dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Vizier of Remedies.
3. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability
4. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns Glen Elendra Archmage into an endlessly recurring counterspell engine, protected entirely by Vizier of Remedies and fueled by Bartolomé del Presidio. Ordinarily, the persist ability would saddle the Archmage with a -1/-1 counter preventing it from coming back a second time, but Vizier of Remedies intervenes by reducing that counter placement to zero. This allows Bartolomé del Presidio to repeatedly sacrifice the Archmage to grow larger while generating an infinite storm of enters-the-battlefield, leaves-the-battlefield, and death triggers.
