How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Glen Elendra Archmage.
2. When Glen Elendra Archmage dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Vizier of Remedies.
3. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability
4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Glen Elendra Archmage into an endlessly recurring counter-spell engine and mill weapon. Normally, the creature's persist ability would limit it to a single resurrection before a -1/-1 counter permanently shuts it down, but Vizier of Remedies steps in to completely cancel out that counter placement. With the counter prevention fully active, you can repeatedly feed Glen Elendra Archmage to Altar of Dementia to mill an opponent's entire library to dust while triggering endless deaths and graveyard returns.
