How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing River Kelpie.
2. When River Kelpie dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Vizier of Remedies.
3. When River Kelpie enters, its first ability triggers, causing you to draw a card.
4. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop uses Bartolomé del Presidio as a dedicated sacrifice outlet to continuously feed River Kelpie into your graveyard, where its persist ability immediately returns it to the battlefield. Normally, persist would saddle River Kelpie with a -1/-1 counter and shut down the engine for good, but Vizier of Remedies steps in with its replacement effect to cleanly absorb that penalty entirely. Meanwhile, River Kelpie takes full advantage of its own resurrection by triggering its own entry ability to draw you a card every single iteration, fueling your hand while your vampire grows ever stronger.
