How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Rendclaw Trow.
2. When Rendclaw Trow dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Vizier of Remedies.
3. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on the clever interplay between Rendclaw Trow and Vizier of Remedies to completely break the rules of persist. Normally, Rendclaw Trow would return from the graveyard with a -1/-1 counter that permanently locks it out of triggering its persist ability a second time, but Vizier of Remedies steps in to reduce that counter placement to zero. This lets you endlessly sacrifice the Trow to Altar of Dementia, triggering an infinite loop that mills your opponents' entire libraries while generating boundless creature deaths and enter-the-battlefield triggers.
