How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing another creature.
2. When the creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Vizier of Remedies.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop centers around the sacrifice engine of Phyrexian Altar, which provides a steady stream of colored mana while sending your creatures to the graveyard. When you sacrifice a nontoken creature while Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (the back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn) is on the battlefield, its granted persist ability triggers and brings the creature right back. Normally, that returning creature would enter with a -1/-1 counter, but Vizier of Remedies steps in to completely neutralize that drawback, reducing the placed counters to zero. Because the creature returns with a clean slate, you can sacrifice it to the Altar over and over again to generate infinite mana, death triggers, and sacrifice counts.
