How it works

1. Cast Stonecoil Serpent either from your hand or from the top of your library by paying 0.
2. Stonecoil Serpent enters the battlefield and dies as a state-based action due to having zero toughness.
3. Mortuary triggers, putting Stonecoil Serpent on top of your library from your graveyard.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop revolves around casting Stonecoil Serpent for zero mana, immediately sending it to the graveyard where its toughness of zero does it in. Mortuary catches the serpent on its way to the yard, seamlessly placing it right back on top of your library to keep the cycle going. Meanwhile, Mystic Forge lets you peer into the future and play that very same Stonecoil Serpent straight off the top of your library again and again. Because the serpent costs nothing to cast, you have an endless engine that generates boundless storm count, enters-the-battlefield triggers, and leaves-the-battlefield triggers without ever running out of resources.
