How it works
- Activate Birds of Paradise by tapping it, adding 1.
- Activate Sensei's Divining Top's second ability by tapping it, causing you to draw a card and put Sensei's Divining Top from the battlefield onto the top of your library.
- Cast Sensei's Divining Top from the top of your library by paying 1.
- Valley Floodcaller triggers, giving Birds, Otters, Frogs and Rats you control +1/+1 until end of turn and untapping them.
- Repeat.
This elegant loop turns Sensei's Divining Top into a self-sustaining engine by repeatedly drawing the artifact and recasting it from the top of your library, fueled by the mana generated from tapping Birds of Paradise. Mystic Forge makes this possible by letting you play the Top directly from the top of your library while also granting you the freedom to exile the occasional non-artifact roadblock if you get stuck. Meanwhile, Valley Floodcaller acts as the vital linchpin of the combo, its static ability granting the Top flash while its triggered ability untaps your mana-producing Birds of Paradise each time the artifact is recast.
