How it works

  1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Phyrexian Walker.
  2. When Phyrexian Walker dies, Mortuary and Remembrance trigger.
  3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Phyrexian Walker from your graveyard on top of your library.
  4. Resolve the Remembrance trigger, searching your library for Phyrexian Walker and putting it into your hand.
  5. Resolve the Woe Strider ability, causing you to scry 1.
  6. Cast Phyrexian Walker by paying 0.
  7. Repeat.

This clever loop uses Mortuary and Remembrance as a brilliant tag-team whenever a creature hits the graveyard from the battlefield: Mortuary places the dying card right back onto the top of your library, while Remembrance lets you tutor a copy of that same creature straight into your hand. Phyrexian Walker serves as the ultimate catalyst for this engine because its mana cost is zero, allowing you to instantly replay it the moment it's tutored. Meanwhile, Woe Strider provides the free sacrifice outlet needed to start the chain and keeps the loop churning infinitely, triggering a storm of death and enter-the-battlefield effects while letting you continually scry through your deck.
