How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Melira's Keepers
2. When Melira's Keepers dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its static effect.
3. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
4. Repeat.

This elegant loop sets up a perpetual sacrifice engine by using Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (the back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn) to grant persist to Melira's Keepers. Because Melira's Keepers has a static ability preventing counters from being placed on it, it continuously ignores the -1/-1 counter that would normally curtail its return, allowing you to feed it indefinitely to Woe Strider. With every cycle, Woe Strider's sacrifice ability fuels infinite death triggers, enters-the-battlefield events, and scry 1 utility to completely sculpt your library.
