How it works

  1. Defeat Invasion of Amonkhet
  2. Invasion of Amonkhet triggers, causing you to exile it, and return it to the battlefield transformed as Lazotep Convert.
  3. Choose to have Lazotep Convert enter the battlefield as a copy of Ojer Taq that is a 4/4 Zombie.
  4. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Lazotep Convert.
  5. When Lazotep Convert dies, it triggers, causing you to exile it, and return it to the battlefield transformed as Lazotep Convert.
  6. Choose to have Lazotep Convert enter the battlefield as a copy of Ojer Taq that is a 4/4 Zombie.
  7. Resolve the Woe Strider ability, causing you to scry 1.
  8. Repeat from step 4.

This clever loop hinges on the exponential token-multiplying replacement effect of Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation, which allows a single sacrifice to completely break the laws of the battlefield. By flipping Invasion of Amonkhet into Lazotep Convert and having it copy Ojer Taq, you ensure that every incoming creature—like the 0/1 Goat token provided by Woe Strider upon entry—spawns a massive army instead. You then use Woe Strider's sacrifice ability to feed the copy back into the graveyard, triggering Ojer Taq's inherent death clause to instantly return itself transformed and restart the cycle, all while the scry ability fuels your deck.
