How it works

  1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing another creature.
  2. Korvold's second ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it and causing you to draw a card.
  3. The Locust God triggers, causing you to create a 1/1 Insect creature token with haste.
  4. Resolve the Woe Strider ability, causing you to scry 1.
  5. Repeat.

This engine turns Woe Strider into a selfless sacrifice outlet that fuels a devastating feedback loop alongside Korvold, Fae-Cursed King and The Locust God. Every time Woe Strider consumes a creature, Korvold steps in to reward the sacrifice by growing larger and drawing a card, which in turn triggers The Locust God to spawn a hasty replacement insect token to keep the cycle going. Because Korvold's card draw instantly replaces the sacrificed material with a fresh token, you can repeat this process indefinitely to churn through your deck, grow Korvold to astronomical heights, and flood the board with a swarm of flying insects.
