How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it due to Curator Beastie.
3. Resolve the Woe Strider ability, causing you to scry 1.
4. Repeat.

This elegant sacrifice loop uses Woe Strider as the engine to repeatedly feed Lesser Masticore to the graveyard, triggering endless deaths, leaves-the-battlefield events, and scry 1 utility. Normally, Lesser Masticore would return from the dead with a -1/-1 counter via persist, halting the loop once it accumulated too many. However, Curator Beastie solves this by ensuring that colorless creatures enter the battlefield with two additional +1/+1 counters, instantly neutralizing the persist counter and allowing the Masticore to safely die over and over again.
