How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Lesser Masticore.
2. When Lesser Masticore dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Lesser Masticore enters, Mm'menon triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Lesser Masticore.
4. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns Lesser Masticore into a self-sustaining sacrifice engine by neutralizing its own drawback; whenever the creature returns via persist, the +1/+1 counter granted by Mm'menon, Uthros Exile immediately annihilates the -1/+1 counter it arrived with. Woe Strider provides both the sacrifice outlet needed to trigger this recurring cycle and a fresh scry trigger on each iteration, letting you cycle through your deck indefinitely.
