How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Guan Yu.
2. When Guan Yu dies, it, Deathrender and Remembrance trigger.
3. Resolve the Guan Yu trigger, causing you to shuffle it into your library from your graveyard.
4. Resolve the Remembrance trigger, causing you to search your library for Guan Yu and put it into your hand.
5. Resolve the Deathrender trigger, putting Guan Yu from your hand onto the battlefield, and attaching Deathrender to it.
6. Resolve the Woe Strider ability, causing you to scry 1.
7. Repeat.

This loop is an engine of endless recursion powered by a clever alignment of death triggers. When Woe Strider sacrifices Guan Yu, Sainted Warrior, Deathrender and Remembrance trigger simultaneously alongside Guan Yu's own replacement-like shuffle effect. Because Guan Yu’s ability sends it back to your library, Remembrance immediately tutors it right back to your hand, while Deathrender plucks it straight from your hand and equips itself to the warrior once more. Woe Strider acts as the willing executioner for this cycle, letting you sacrifice Guan Yu over and over again to perpetually filter your draws with scry 1 while generating an infinite stream of enters-the-battlefield and death events.
