Woe Strider

How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Yosei.
2. When Yosei dies, it and Gift of Immortality trigger.
3. Resolve the Yosei trigger, causing the next player in turn order to skip their next untap step.
4. Resolve the Gift of Immortality trigger, returning Yosei from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
6. At the beginning of the end step, Gift of Immortality triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Yosei.
7. Repeat during each turn unless you are the next player in turn order.

By enchanting Yosei, the Morning Star with Gift of Immortality, you create a self-sustaining cycle of reincarnation whenever you sacrifice Yosei to Woe Strider. Because Yosei's death triggers both its own lockdown ability—forcing a targeted player to skip their next untap step and tap down five permanents—and Gift of Immortality's resurrection, you can continuously strip away an opponent's resources turn after turn. Woe Strider's sacrifice outlet allows you to repeat this process at will, effectively freezing your opponents out of the game entirely.
