How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Kitchen Finks.
2. When Kitchen Finks dies, its persist ability triggers, returning Kitchen Finks from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Kitchen Finks enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to gain 2 life.
4. Spider-Man triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Kitchen Finks.
5. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
6. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns an ordinary sacrifice outlet into an engine of resilience and growth by balancing opposing counters. When Woe Strider sends Kitchen Finks to the graveyard, persist brings it back with a -1/-1 counter, but the lifegain triggers Spider-Man, Peter Parker to place a +1/+1 counter on the Finks. Because Magic treats +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters as state-based actions that annihilate each other, the Kitchen Finks is left clean of counters and ready to be sacrificed all over again.
