How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Kitchen Finks.
2. When Kitchen Finks dies, its persist ability triggers, returning Kitchen Finks from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Kitchen Finks enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to gain 2 life.
4. The Destined White Mage triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Kitchen Finks.
5. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
6. Repeat.

This loop harnesses a clever neutralization of the persist mechanic by letting Woe Strider sacrifice Kitchen Finks repeatedly to generate an endless stream of sacrifice, enter-the-battlefield, and leave-the-battlefield triggers. Each time Kitchen Finks returns from the graveyard with a -1/-1 counter and gains life upon entry, The Destined White Mage detects that life gain and responds by placing a +1/+1 counter on the Finks. Because Magic treats +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters as state-based actions that annihilate each other on a one-for-one basis, the incoming +1/+1 counter immediately erases the persistent -1/+1 counter, resetting Kitchen Finks so it can persist all over again.
