How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing a creature with mana value 1 or less.
2. When the creature dies, Mortuary triggers, putting the creature from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
4. Cast the creature from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
5. Bontu's Monument triggers, causing you to gain 1 life and each opponent to lose 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This cunning loop turns the top of your library into an endless revolving door of sacrifice fodder, fueled entirely by life instead of mana thanks to Bolas's Citadel. Whenever you sacrifice a cheap creature to Woe Strider, Mortuary immediately catches it on its way to the graveyard and places it right back onto the top of your library so Bolas's Citadel can cast it again for a tiny life payment. Meanwhile, Bontu's Monument sits quietly on the battlefield turning every single iteration of this cycle into a net-neutral or positive life swing, draining your opponents away while offsetting the casting cost of your recurring creature.
