How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Rhythm of the Wild
3. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
4. Repeat

This clever loop turns Woe Strider into a sacrificial engine that continuously churns through creatures equipped with persist. By leveraging Rhythm of the Wild, your incoming creatures receive a +1/+1 counter from riot that instantly cancels out the -1/-1 counter from persist, allowing them to return to the battlefield indefinitely. Woe Strider acts as both the outlet to sacrifice your creatures and the means to refine your draws with its scry ability as the loop repeats.
