How it works

  1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Anticausal Vestige.
  2. When Anticausal Vestige dies, it triggers, causing you to draw a card and put Body Double from your hand onto the battlefield tapped. Choose to have Body Double enter as a copy of Anticausal Vestige.
  3. When Body Double enters, Paleoloth triggers, returning Anticausal Vestige from your graveyard to your hand.
  4. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
  5. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Body Double.
  6. When Body Double dies, it triggers, causing you to draw a card and put Anticausal Vestige from your hand onto the battlefield tapped.
  7. When Anticausal Vestige enters, Paleoloth triggers, returning Body Double from your graveyard to your hand.
  8. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
  9. Repeat.

This loop relies on a clever shell game between Anticausal Vestige and Body Double, where each copy entering or leaving the battlefield constantly swaps places with the other from your hand. Woe Strider acts as the engine, providing a reliable sacrifice outlet that triggers Anticausal Vestige's leave-the-battlefield ability while feeding your graveyard. Meanwhile, Paleoloth watches from the sidelines as these creatures enter with power 5 or greater—thanks to Body Double copying Anticausal Vestige—allowing you to endlessly recur the piece you just sacrificed back to your hand to keep the chain unbroken.
