How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing another nontoken green Insect.
2. When the Insect dies, Zask and Verdant Succession trigger.
3. Resolve the Zask trigger, putting the Insect on the bottom of your library from your graveyard and causing you to mill two cards.
4. Resolve the Verdant Succession trigger, searching your library for that Insect and putting it onto the battlefield.
5. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
6. Repeat.

This fascinating loop turns your graveyard into an endless engine, fueled by Woe Strider's ability to effortlessly sacrifice green Insect creatures. Whenever that sacrifice happens, Verdant Succession steps in to immediately pluck a fresh copy straight from your library and slide it onto the battlefield. Meanwhile, Zask, Skittering Swarmlord catches the falling Insect as it dies, safely stashing it on the bottom of your library while constantly milling away two more cards to dig through your deck. Together, these pieces create a relentless cycle that endlessly repeats your death, enter-the-battlefield, and scry triggers while chewing through your library.
