How it works

  1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing another nontoken creature without a -1/-1 counter on it.
  2. When the creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Solemnity.
  3. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
  4. Repeat.

With Solemnity quietly halting all counters from ever being placed, the back side of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight turns every nontoken creature you control into an immortal engine by granting them persist. When you sacrifice one of those creatures to Woe Strider's activated ability, its persist trigger brings it right back to the battlefield completely untouched by -1/-1 counters. Because Woe Strider lets you repeat this sacrifice loop indefinitely, you generate an endless stream of death, sacrifice, and entry triggers alongside infinite scry 1 utility.
