How it works

  1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Relentless Skaabs
  2. When Relentless Skaabs dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
  3. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Relentless Skaabs
  4. When Relentless Skaabs dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
  5. Resolve both Woe Strider abilities from step 1 and 3.
  6. Repeat.

This loop relies on the clever interplay between Woe Strider's sacrifice outlet and the overlapping graveyard recursion of Relentless Skaabs and Isilu, Carrier of Twilight's back face. Because Woe Strider allows you to freely sacrifice creatures, you can repeatedly bin Relentless Skaabs to trigger its undying ability, which brings it back with a +1/+1 counter. Once that counter offsets Isilu, Carrier of Twilight's granted persist ability, sacrificing Relentless Skaabs again lets its persist trigger return it with a -1/-1 counter, resetting the cycle. Meanwhile, Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn helps pave the way by giving your creature spells convoke before you transform the card, making it seamless to recast everything you need to keep this infinite sacrifice engine running.
