How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing The Master.
2. When The Master dies, its second ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Cavalier of Night.
3. When The Master enters the battlefield, its first ability triggers, doing nothing.
4. Resolve the Woe Strider ability, causing you to scry 1.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Woe Strider's free sacrifice outlet into a self-sustaining engine by utilizing The Master, Formed Anew as a shape-shifter that continuously recycles itself. Because The Master is able to enter the battlefield as a copy of Cavalier of Night from exile—thanks to its unique ability to remember exiled cards and mimic them—it exploits the Cavalier's entry trigger to sustain the cycle (even though the copy's ETB whiffs here, the card's mere presence as a Cavalier is what seeds the graveyard with the correct targets for the next loop). Woe Strider rounds out the combination by providing the repeatable sacrifice cost needed to send The Master back to the graveyard, generating infinite sacrifice triggers, death triggers, and scries along the way.
