How it works

  1. Donate Blightbeetle to an opponent
  2. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing the undying creature.
  3. When the undying creature dies, its undying ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield without a +1/+1 counter on it due to Blightbeetle.
  4. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
  5. Repeat from step 2.

This cunning loop relies on Stiltzkin, Moogle Merchant to hand your opponent a Blightbeetle, locking down their ability to receive +1/+1 counters. With that static prevention in place, when you sacrifice a creature to Woe Strider's activation cost, any recurring threat with undying will continuously loop back to the battlefield without its stopping counter. Because Blightbeetle nullifies the counter placement that normally shuts undying down, Woe Strider can endlessly sacrifice and recycle your creature for infinite death triggers, enters-the-battlefield effects, and scry 1 utility.
