How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, it and Dragon Appeasement trigger.
3. Resolve the Dragon Appeasement trigger, causing you to draw a card.
4. Resolve the persist creature's trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. When the persist creature enters the battlefield, Olivia triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on the persist creature and causing you to discard a card.
6. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Woe Strider's sacrifice outlet and Dragon Appeasement's card-draw engine into a self-sustaining machine, fueled entirely by the resilient nature of a persist creature. Every time you feed the creature to Woe Strider, Dragon Appeasement rewards your sacrifice by drawing you a card, which you can then immediately discard to the trigger from Olivia, Mobilized for War. That very same trigger from Olivia, Mobilized for War counters the creature's -1/-1 counter by placing a +1/+1 counter on it as it returns, resetting the persist loop so you can repeat the process indefinitely.
