How it works

  1. Cast Stonework Puma by paying 3.
  2. When Stonework Puma enters, Haru triggers, targeting Stonework Puma as it is a land due to Toph.
  3. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Stonework Puma.
  4. When Stonework Puma dies, Haru triggers, returning Stonework Puma from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
  5. When Stonework Puma enters, Haru triggers, targeting Stonework Puma as it is a land due to Toph.
  6. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
  7. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop transforms your artifact creature into a looping land thanks to Toph, the First Metalbender, which turns your nontoken artifacts into lands. When Stonework Puma enters the battlefield, Haru, Hidden Talent treats it as a land and earthbends it into a creature, allowing Woe Strider to step in and sacrifice it for value. Because the earthbend mechanic ensures Stonework Puma returns to the battlefield tapped when it dies or is exiled, Haru triggers all over again to restart the cycle.
