How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing a persist creature that doesn't have a -1/-1 counter on it.
2. When the creature dies, its persist ability and Long Feng trigger.
3. Resolve the Long Feng trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on the other persist creature.
4. Resolve the persist trigger, returning the creature from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Resolve the Woe Strider ability.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop leverages Woe Strider as a reliable sacrifice outlet that also leaves behind fodder like its initial Goat token, though the true engine relies on a persist creature entering the graveyard to trigger Long Feng, Grand Secretariat. Each time the sacrificed creature dies, Long Feng places a +1/+1 counter on your other creatures, which neatly cancels out the -1/-1 counter brought back by the persist mechanic. This mutual interaction lets you repeatedly cycle the persist creature through the graveyard to generate infinite sacrifice, death, and enter-the-battlefield triggers while filtering your draws with Woe Strider's scry ability.
