How it works

  1. Activate Wall of Roots by putting two -0/-1 counters on it (due to Doc Samson), adding G mana.
  2. Activate Tayam by paying 3 and removing three counters from creatures you control.
  3. In response to Tayam's ability, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Wall of Roots, adding ColorlessColorless.
  4. Resolve Tayam's ability, milling yourself three cards and returning Wall of Roots from your graveyard to the battlefield with two vigilance counters on it due to Tayam and Doc Samson.
  5. Repeat.

This elegant loop hinges on Doc Samson, Super Psychiatrist, whose replacement effect supercharges every counter put onto your board, turning Wall of Roots into a self-contained counter-factory that drops two -0/-1 counters at once while tapping for green mana. When you activate Tayam, Luminous Enigma by stripping away those accumulated counters to mill and reanimate a small permanent, Ashnod's Altar steps in to sacrifice the Wall first, generating the colorless mana needed to fund the cycle. Thanks to Tayam's static ability and Doc Samson, Super Psychiatrist once again, the reanimated Wall of Roots slips right back onto the battlefield bearing fresh vigilance counters to fuel the next iteration, letting you churn through your entire library and trigger infinite sacrifices along the way.
