How it works

1. Activate Wall of Roots by putting two -0/-1 counters on it (due to Brad Boimler), adding .
2. Activate Tayam by paying 3 and removing three counters from creatures you control.
3. In response to Tayam's ability, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Wall of Roots, adding .
4. Resolve Tayam's ability, milling yourself three cards and returning Wall of Roots from your graveyard to the battlefield with two vigilance counters on it due to Tayam and Brad Boimler.
5. Repeat.

This intricate loop turns Wall of Roots into a self-sustaining engine by leveraging the replacement effect of Brad Boimler, Eager Ensign, which doubles up the counters placed on your permanents. While Ashnod's Altar converts that sacrificed wall into the colorless mana needed to fuel the cycle, Tayam, Luminous Enigma continually plucks the wall right back out of your graveyard using the very counters it accumulated. The result is an endless cascade of sacrifices and resurrections that mills away your entire library while generating infinite death triggers.
