How it works

1. Activate Spawning Pit by sacrificing Voracious Wurm.
2. When Voracious Wurm dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its replacement effect.
3. Resolve the Spawning Pit ability.
4. Repeat.

This loop relies on Isilu, Carrier of Twilight granting persist to your other nontoken creatures, allowing Voracious Wurm to repeatedly return from the graveyard after being sacrificed to Spawning Pit. While Spawning Pit accumulates charge counters with each iteration, Voracious Wurm's natural lifegain scaling pairs naturally with the lifelink from Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn to grow enormous as it re-enters the battlefield.
