How it works
- Activate Spawning Pit by sacrificing Priest of Gix.
- When Priest of Gix dies, Rakdos triggers.
- Holding priority, activate Haunted Crossroads by paying , putting Priest of Gix from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
- Resolve the Rakdos trigger, causing you to exile the top three cards of your library with the ability to play them until your next end step.
- Resolve the Spawning Pit ability from step 1.
- Cast Priest of Gix from exile by paying at most 2.
- When Priest of Gix enters the battlefield, it triggers, adding .
- Repeat.
This intricate loop revolves around the synergy between Heartless Summoning and Priest of Gix, which allows the black ritual creature to enter the battlefield entirely for free. Once it's in play, you feed it to Spawning Pit to generate a charge counter while fueling Rakdos, the Muscle's trigger to exile cards from a library. At the same time, Haunted Crossroads provides the crucial recursive glue by spending black mana to cycle Priest of Gix right back from the graveyard onto the top of your library so it can be recast from exile.
